Chat News Dec 09 - New! Christmas at TTS 2009 TTS Response to Disaster Relief

pictureAll students at TTS are encouraged to take an active role in supporting charitable organizations and good causes, both in Singapore and other parts of the globe.

Ch@t (Charities at Tanglin) has been created to fill a need in the school to encourage our children to see beyond their normal sphere of experience here in Singapore. The Ch@t Administrator is responsible for co-ordinating and communicating the good work that the TTS Community are involved with.

We believe it is important that students learn about the world they live in, make a positive contribution, exercise responsible citizenship and realise that not everyone enjoys the privileges and lifestyle that they do. This contribution to society forms part of the School's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.

pictureThroughout the TTS Community, classes take on group charity projects and at various times the whole School come together in support of a specific cause. In addition, students often work as individuals or together in interest groups to raise awareness and money in order to improve the lives of those less fortunate. Parents and friends of TTS are also invited to participate in charity projects.

If you decide to organise an event/activity with a charitable theme, you will firstly need to complete a 'Charity Event Proposal Form'. This may be downloaded by clicking here. Once Ch@t receives and checks your completed proposal form, you will be contacted to confirm that the activity/event may go ahead. Please note that any such event/activity is voluntary and without any obligation.

pictureIf you are considering an event/activity that involves a financial donation of any kind, we ask you to choose a beneficiary from the 'Revised List of Charities/Organizations 2008/2009' Please note that TTS will continue to promote the aims of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) by encouraging other types of support:-acts of service, donation of time, visits and interaction with Charities/Organizations that do not appear on the list. Please click here for a copy of the list

If you need any assistance please feel free to contact the Ch@t Administrator, (phone) 67789000 ext 504 (email) barbara.mason@tts.edu.sg, or call into the Junior Office. (You can catch me most days between 11am and 3pm).
