FOBISSEA Oath


We pledge to participate in the Primary FOBISSEA Games in the true spirit of sportsmanship, fair play and enjoyment.

We pledge to play to the best of our ability and show respect to our team-mates, opponents, teachers and officials at all times.


Participant Code of Conduct

* Compete by the competition conditions and rules.
* Never argue with the Judge’s, Referee’s or Umpire’s decision.
* Control your temper – no criticism by word or gesture.
* Work equally hard for yourself and your team – your team’s performance will benefit and so will your own.
* Going to bed at a reasonable hour will assist your own and your team’s performance.
* Be a good sport. Encourage and support your own team members.
  Co-operate with your coach and team-mates. Show respect for your opponents and their skills.
* Be friendly to all participants.

Parent Code of Conduct

* Focus on the child’s efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.
* Remember that children participate in sport for their enjoyment, not yours.
* Encourage children always to play according to the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to hostility or violence.
* Work equally hard for yourself and your team – your team’s performance will benefit and so will your own.
* Remember that children learn best by example. Appreciate good performances and skilful plays by all participants.
* Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
* Respect officials’ decision and teach children to do likewise. Avoid the use of unhelpful and negative comment towards all officials, coaches and participants

Throughout the games.

  • Show appreciation for volunteer coaches, officials and administrators. Without them, your child could not participate.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
