PTA HIGHLIGHTS – FRIDAY 9th JULY 2010

Hi everyone, 


It's been a great year and the AGM came around all too quickly because of the changes to the Constitution voted in at the previous AGM in October.  We had a 9 month financial year ended 31st March, which means that funds raised by events organised in Term 3 are carried over to the new financial year.  This did not affect our efforts to uplift community spirit and we enjoyed working together on various functions and would like to thank the Tanglin community for supporting the events this year.

Funds raised during the year will be used to the benefit of all our children and decisions are being made in consultation with the leadership team, at the next Executive Committee Meeting, as to how they should be allocated across the 3 schools.  I can tell you that "shade" features on the wish list which consists, as you know, of items which are not always possible to cover in terms of the school budget.

On behalf of the PTA Executive Committee, I would like to say a fond farewell to all the families leaving Tanglin this year - we wish you all the best in your new venture and look forward to hearing your news from friends in the community. One of our first functions in September is to welcome new families to Tanglin - the PTA will assist the school on Orientation Day and the PTA Newcomers Coffee Morning is scheduled for Thursday 9 September, so we look forward to meeting parents new to the school then. Happy summer holiday everyone! Take care and we look forward to seeing you all in September for another busy year.

• Stuck on You Labels - if you are ordering labels from Stuck on You - either by mail or online, can you please make sure that you indicate that you are a Tanglin Trust School parent - the PTA receives commission on these sales and every little  bit helps! Order forms are avaliable in the PTA office and these have been pre-stamped with the PTA details.

• BABY SITTING SERVICE -The PTA has a list of Babysitters.  Please email us at ptaoff@tts.edu.sg for more information
   
• ADVERTISING SPACE ON THE PTA WEBSITE FOR ALL PARENTS – reach a wide target market through the PTA 'Marketplace'  – Read details of what’s on sale or place your own wanted ad!  - This is a completely free service so why not take advantage of the ad space? You may also find something useful for you.  Have you just arrived in Singapore? Maybe you can find what you need here or place an ad for wanted items. Just download the relevant form from the PTA section of the 'Useful Downloads' and email it to the PTA Office at ptaoff@tts.edu.sg if you wish to place an ad.
• Biz Pages – Check out the new businesses advertised - This section allows the Tanglin community to advertise their business at a very low cost and reach a wide market. Be sure to check it out. The application form is available on the school website under 'Useful Downloads', 'Forms and Notices' if you wish to place an advertisement.
• Costumes for Hire -    Costumes are available for upcoming theme days at a low price of $10.00 per costume. Come along to the PTA office and have a look or email us at ptaoff@tts.edu.sg.
