Overall effectiveness of Tanglin Trust School January 2008
The findings of the recent Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED), inspection confirmed Tanglin's status as a highly successful school. We invite OFSTED inspectors to visit our School, with inspections at Tanglin taking place more frequently than in schools in England.

The Senior School was evaluated as outstanding which is the highest possible grading. Infant and Junior Schools were judged to be good schools with some outstanding features. Throughout the schools students were judged to achieve well and reach very high standards due to the good quality teaching, rich and varied curriculum and the excellent care, guidance and support offered to all students whatever their circumstances. Some of the key highlights included

• • The Senior School is an outstanding school, but not one to rest on its laurels.
• • Tanglin offers its students an educational experience of a very high quality, and they take full advantage of this to   achieve exceptionally high standards.
• • Students achieve well and the standards they reach at the end of Year 6 are much higher than normally found at this   age.
• • Students' personal development and well-being is outstanding.
• • Throughout the school, lessons are challenging and often move at a cracking pace. Teaching in the sixth form is   excellent
• • The schools are well led and managed. Good leadership and management are driving the schools forward.
• • Children in the Nursery and Reception Years make good progress.
• • The school works in close partnership with its parents
• • The good curriculum links subjects together in an interesting way

As the inspection identified, despite its success, Tanglin is not a school to rest on its laurels. The inspection report praised the schools own evaluation systems and judged that those areas that the school was already seeking to strengthen, for example making even better use of assessment data, were well founded. The inspection team acknowledged the hardwork of staff and their commitment to seek constant improvement.

The positive report has served to reinforce Tanglin's determination to maintain its position as a high achieving school that seeks excellence in all that it does.
