Student Leaders

Tanglin Trust School’s Head Girl and Head Boy and approximately 12 Prefects are appointed in Term 3 from the cohort of Year 12 students and serve for 1 year. The Senior School Management Team selects the student leaders based on recommendations made by all the Senior School staff as well as the Sixth Form students. School Prefects have duties that extend across the entire School, including meeting and greeting at School events and daily duties in the Senior School. The Head Girl and Head Boy also represent the School at official functions.

Students in the Sixth Form can also serve on the Sixth Form Committee, which is made up of students from both Year 12 and Year 13, who are elected to sit on the Committee by their peers. The function of the committee is to discuss and make recommendations on all facets of Sixth Form life from the facilities to social events.

The Sixth Form Committee also has several sub-committees – the Charity Committee, the Social Committee, the Pantomime Committee and the Year Book Committee. Students volunteer to serve on these committees, which operate at various times throughout the year.

Tanglin Trust School encourages students to participate in a range of leadership opportunities. By encouraging students to apply for positions of responsibility, Tanglin believes it encourages students to take ownership of leadership positions.
