2006 In 2006, nearly 500 students at Tanglin sat the National Curriculum tests, which are compulsory for all government schools in England, and the results were once again well above the national average and ranked us in the top 5 percent of schools. Many Independent schools in England also administer these tests at the end of Key Stage 2 and again, Tanglin's results overall were above the average recorded by Independent schools that submitted results. |

In 2006, 96 percent of Tanglin students at this age scored level 2 or higher in reading with 49 percent scoring level 3. In writing, 93 percent of the student group scored level 2 or higher, with 27 percent scoring level 3. In mathematics, 100 percent scored level 2 or higher, with 51 percent scoring level 3. |

Key Stage 2 (Year 6) |
In 2006, 100 percent of our students at this age scored level 4 or higher in English, with 78 percent scoring level 5 or above. In mathematics, 95 percent of the student group scored level 4 or higher, with 65 percent scoring level 5 or above. In science, 99 percent scored level 4 or higher, with 86 percent scoring level 5 or above. |

Key Stage 3 (Year 9) |
In 2006, all of our students at this age scored level 5 or 6 or higher in mathematics, with 81 percent scoring level 7 or above. In science, 99 percent scored level 5 or 6 or higher with 71 percent scoring level 7 or higher. In English, 100 percent scored level 5 or 6 or higher with 41 percent* scoring level 7 or higher. Key Stage 4 - The GCSE Qualification |
Our sixth full cohort of 55 Year 11 students taking GCSE examinations this year did extremely well. In overall terms, out of 540 examinations taken across a range of 22 subjects, the results achieved were a highly commendable 95 percent A* to C, with 86 percent A* to B, 62 percent A* to A, and 25 percent A*. Key Stage 5 - Sixth Form |
The fourth graduating class of Year 13 students also achieved a high level of success. They achieved a pass rate of 99 percent in their A level examinations, with 82 percent of the grades at A to C. Four students - Idris Alsagoff, Ing Chua-Lee, Matthew Seah and Chloe Pieters achieved straight As in four subjects each with Chloe achieving A* in the Advanced Extension Award for English.
