This has been another very successful year for Tanglin students. Examination results at all levels saw Tanglin maintain its impressive record in ensuring that students throughout the schools achieved well and reached high standards 1.

Key Stage 1 (end of Year 2)

The average standard that most 7 year olds are expected to reach in reading, writing and mathematics is level 2b. At Tanglin the great majority of pupils attained this level and many reached the higher levels of 2a and 3.


In reading 79 percent of students attained level 2a+ with 52 percent at level 3. In writing 52 percent reached level 2a+ and 25 percent level 3. In mathematics 83 percent attained level 2a+ with 58 percent reaching level 3.


Key Stage 2 (end of Year 6)


Another successful year was reflected in the high standards attained by 11 year old students. The standard that most 11 year olds are expected to reach is level 4. The majority of Tanglin students reached above average standards in English, mathematics and science.


In English 97 percent of students reached level 4+ with 55 percent attaining level 5. In mathematics 95 percent attained level 4+ and 65 percent reached level 5 while in science virtually all pupils reached level 4 and an impressive 92 percent reached level 5.

Key Stage 3 (end of Year 9)

These most recent results indicate outstanding levels of achievement and standards attained by Tanglin’s 14 year old students. The average standards expected for students in England is level 5 but in Tanglin all students attain this level with virtually all surpassing it. Tanglin is particularly successful at enabling students to reach the higher levels.


In English, 90 percent attained level 6+ with 67 percent reaching level 7. Results in science were very similar to English, in both English and science, level 7 is the highest grade. In mathematics, level 8 is the highest grade and this was reached by 48 percent of students, virtually all students reached level 6, and 83 percent reached level 7 or above.


Key Stage 4 (GCSE - end of Year 11)



This year’s results are well up to expectations with many students doing exceptionally well. Over half of the grades achieved by students were grade A* or A, 83 percent of grades were A*-B and 96 percent of students were awarded 5 A*-C passes. For further details please click here.

 


Key Stage 5 (A levels - end of Year 13)


Another very good set of A-level results saw 95 percent of students gaining entry to their first choice universities and, for the first time, 4 students gained entry to Oxford or Cambridge. The average point score per student as 370 points which is the equivalent to 3 grade As. There was a 100 percent pass rate with 95 percent of student attaining grades A-C and 73 percent attaining grades A-B. For further details please click here.
