Documents Published by the School

At the start of every academic year, Tanglin Trust School sends an Information Folder to all families with children at the School. This folder is also sent to families with children commencing at other times. The folder contains several key publications. These include:

• Handbook For Families.

This publication is a comprehensive A to Z guide to the running of Tanglin Trust School. It outlines the School’s aims and values, Board of Governors, and the Code of Conduct for students, including how misbehaviours are sanctioned. It lists all professional staff in education, features a school-year calendar, and outlines operational information for families such as drop-off and pick-up times and procedures and what students should bring with them to school. Emergency evacuation procedures are also described.

• Information on Curriculum.

Tanglin Trust School publishes six detailed curriculum documents, one each for the five Key Stages and the Foundation Stage taught at the school. Parents receive the publication or publications pertaining to their child or children on entry to the School and the relevant documents as they progress from one Key Stage to the next.

• Newsletter.

The Chief Executive Officer publishes a full-colour newsletter (TTS Focus) three times a year and a monthly e-newsletter (TTS News) throughout the academic year. These outline recent events and news from the School.

News is also sent from the Heads of our Infant, Junior and Senior Schools. To view news from these Schools, please click here on Infant, Junior or Senior respectively.

• Board of Governors.

This document gives information on the history of the School and how it is managed, the functions of the Board of Governors and how members are appointed. It discusses communication between the Board and Parents and introduces current Board members.

• Staff Directory.

This is a directory of all staff – managerial, teaching and support – who make up Tanglin Trust School. A photograph of each person is featured and the academic qualifications of the teaching staff are included.

• Family Health Guide for Singapore.

In association with Singapore’s International Medical Clinic, all families receive a Family Health Guide that focuses on child and teenage health management in Singapore.

Before commencing at the School, parents should read the documents contained in the folder and discuss with their children the Code of Conduct, which is detailed in the Handbook for Families. These documents, especially the Handbook for Families, should also be kept at hand throughout the year for quick and easy reference.
