All teachers are committed to ensuring that students with identified learning challenges are given every opportunity to experience academic success.
Insights are gained into individual students so that they develop appropriate strategies that allow them to achieve their full potential. Students are encouraged to develop independent learning skills, empowering them to take responsibility for the learning challenges they face, strengthening their knowledge and academic independence and empowering them in their pursuit of life-long learning.
Most of the time, the learning needs of our students can be catered for in the classroom by quality first teaching. Students and teachers are supported in the learning process by Senior Academic Support assistants. Some students, at certain stages along their learning journey, benefit from specific interventions. When needed, curriculum modifications are made in the form of taught learning support lessons (KS3), private study sessions (KS4) and mentoring sessions (KS5).
