Tanglin had our Mental Health Awareness Week on 8 to 12 May 2023.
Organised by the Mental Health Film Festival Singapore, more than 20 Senior School students enjoyed award-winning short films that were based on the themes of help-seeking and coping with grief and loss.
Gratitude Trees were being set up by School Counsellors at different parts of Tanglin to encourage students to reflect and remember that which they can be thankful for. Research shows that thanksgiving is highly associated with happiness and stress reduction in people who consistently practises it.
Specially designed Mental Health Awareness Week stickers were enthusiastically received by students from both the Infant and Junior Schools! Assistant Heads of Years and student volunteers from various year groups in Senior School run an information booth and signposted students to resources to get help and encouraging them to have supportive conversations with their peers.
The week’s events culminated in the Mental Health Photo Booth which was enjoyed by more than 400 students and staff as they proudly held up slogans that promoted mental health awareness.
