Return of the Red Carpet

After an incredibly difficult two years for everyone around the world, Tanglin was delighted to roll out its red carpet once again to host the Across Asia Youth Film Festival (AAYFF) 2022 Gala on May 19. The hybrid event, which took place at the Moot at Tanglin, saw more than 100 guests who attended on site and nearly 400 online from 19 different countries. This year, over 100 films were submitted by young film makers from across Asia.

Other than the screening of remarkably high-quality productions, highlights of the event included the attendance of high-profile jury members; Actor Adam Chen, Film Producer Ben Lock and Disney's Head of Studio Entertainment, Singapore and Malaysia, Rachel Fong. The event was hosted by the inimitable Kate Burton and Tanglin Year 12 student Sophie A.

TANGLIN'S BUDDING FILMMAKERS

Tanglin is a great place for studying film, as students are introduced to the art of filmmaking from as early as Junior school. Therefore, by the end of Juniors, they have already been introduced to film grammar, production, post-production and awareness of industry production methods. Students can continue to develop these skills through Co-curricular activities, GCSE, A Level and IB courses. Many Tanglin graduatesi have gone on to enjoy rewarding and successful careers in Film and Media industries.

For this year's AAYFF, Tanglin's young filmmakers submitted exciting work and 11 of them made it into the shortlist:

10-12 Age Category

13-15 Age Category

16-18 Age Category
