The Class of 2025 has worked hard at getting into the university of their choice. Here is Zia's story. 

What is your Tanglin story?
I joined Tanglin in Year 3, and it has been such a big part of my life. It’s where I grew up, built my friendships and discovered my passions and interests, both inside and outside the classroom. Some of my best memories come from the school trips across Southeast Asia. Tanglin has given me so much more than just academics, teaching me resilience, independence, and how to embrace challenges. The past 11 years have been a journey of growth, surrounded by a strong and supportive community that has always pushed me to do my best.

What led you to choose Imperial College London?
When researching universities, Imperial College London really stood out to me because of its strong reputation in Medicine and its specific focus on STEM subjects. I was particularly drawn to the world-class facilities and teaching, and loved the idea of studying in London - a city that offers a multitude of opportunities both academically and personally. Imperial seemed to me to be the perfect place to balance academic rigour with a collaborative environment that will allow me to develop as a future doctor.

What are you most looking forward to as you take this next step?
I’m excited to step into this next chapter and take advantage of everything that university life in a big city has to offer - making new friends, exploring a new country, and gaining a greater sense of independence. Whilst I am eager to learn so much more about Medicine, I also look forward to broadening my horizons through societies, friendships, and new opportunities. I am sure that the university will provide me with unique experiences that will shape both my career path and the person I become.
