This week's Year 4 concert 'An Island Paradise?' was an outstanding showcase of the depth and breadth of the children's music curriculum, with lovely choral singing and a wide selection of instrumental performances from guitars to drum kit. The TTS Foundation's string orchestra and harp ensemble also played beautifully.
The children belted out Eye of the Tiger as the audience clapped along, and Coldplay's Paradise was a superb finale which left the audience humming 'para, para, paradise' on their way home!
In addition to the contemporary and classical music performances, the children created and performed poetry pieces, and a selection of watercolour paintings inspired by William Farquhar's collection were displayed.
Congratulations to the 192 students that enthralled an appreciative audience, and thank you to all the class teachers, music staff and behind the scenes team, who made wonderful contributions to the success of the event. Mr Considine, CEO said: "As is so usual at Tanglin, the children were positive, confident and distinguished. Well done."
