Drawing by the Bus Bay is back! On Wednesday, students, staff and parents kicked off the morning with a joyful burst of creativity, contributing to a large collaborative artwork.
As part of our annual Institute Entrepreneurship programme with Reactor School, selected Year 12 students completed a 17-week journey in design thinking, business modelling and pitching. This week, they delivered their final pitches at INSEAD Business School - congratulations to Team Terranova and their inclusive idea, Events for Everyone, supporting wheelchair users with clearer, more convenient access to events.
Our Senior School students spent time volunteering at St John’s Home for the Elderly, sharing meaningful moments and lending a helping hand. A wonderful reminder of the power of community and compassion.
As part of Safer Internet Week, Tanglin's ParentWise programme held the Speaker Series: Shared Responsibility, Shared Values session which brings Junior and Senior School parents together for a practical, evidence-informed session on online safety and device use. Led by a panel of Tanglin staff across pastoral, technology, academics and counselling, the session shared anonymised insights, explored common digital challenges, and offered practical guidance to support healthy online habits at home.
This year’s Andrews Cup was a fantastic celebration of Junior School football and House spirit, with Years 5 & 6 students, parents and teachers creating a brilliant atmosphere throughout the morning. The standard of play was impressive, made even more special by Senior School students returning to support during their breaktimes.
Reception marked their 100th Day with a special dress-up day and fun maths activities themed around numbers 1–100. The celebrations included 100-day glasses and a Lunar New Year treasure hunt!
Year 9 students welcomed renewable energy company Sembcorp to the Sixth Form Centre for an engaging talk on sustainability and the future of energy.
We finished the half term at the 'Tanglin Tingle' where Dr Malpass recognised and celebrated the achievements of our Senior students - across sport, e-sports, student drama productions, volunteering at school events, debate and service learning.
Lunar New Year celebrations ended the week with a community gathering at the Bus Bay, featuring a fashion show, traditional Chinese performances and parent-led cultural activity booths. It was wonderful to see everyone dressed in their red and gold attire, adding to the festive spirit.
The festivities continued at the Infant & Junior Assembly with wonderful performances - plus a surprise dragon dance for extra luck!
Our Junior School Lunar New Year celebrations featured performances from Junior and Senior students, including Chinese drums and traditional dances, plus a special guest appearance by Alex the Magician - bringing the God of Fortune to life with a magical mask-changing performance.
