Week in Photos

Term 1, Week 10

Recently, Nursery children started their weekly ‘Fruity Fridays’, where classes take turns preparing, serving and promoting the fruit of their choice. Children sing songs, share facts about their favourite fruits (groovy grapes, wonderful watermelons, etc), and create their own original artwork for the snack hatch in honour of their new fruity friend. This encourages little ones to step towards taking ownership of their good food choices!

As part of a wonderful charity programme by Senior School, Year 12 CAS students take upon themselves to assist the community by repairing old bicycles. The students contact their condominium management and seek to get old, spoiled (whether repairable or non-repairable) bicycles with consent from their condo management. The bicycles are repaired here at Tanglin with assistance from Decathlon Singapore’s expert bike repair and maintenance services. Once repaired, they are then donated back to the community. Huge thanks also to the TTS Foundation for the sponsorship of tools and initial spare parts.

We are very pleased to have had 65 parents join us today in the first session of our Virtues Parenting Workshop series. This programme helps parents to awaken the potential of character in their children – to bring out the best in them. The course is facilitated by Claire Holmes, Tanglin’s Head of School Counselling.

Industrious Year 11 Graphic Communications student’s were busy creating digital content during their Mock GCSE exam on Wednesday.

This week, a member from the SPCA was invited to come in and give a presentation to JAAS students in Junior School. SPCA also led a workshop where the children were taught to make toys for pets!

Well done to all the Year and 6 children who performed at the Junior Recital this week!
