Week in Photos

Term 1, Week 9

Infant PE ran their first series of swimming open sessions this week where parents are invited to come watch what the Year 2 children learnt during swimming lessons.

To launch the start of the writing topic, based upon the book 'Lost book of adventure', Year 5 had an immersive morning, learning some of the skills they would need to survive in the rainforest. The children started the day with an assembly from Martin Foakes, learning about him as an explorer with his caving expeditions and the challenges he has to overcome. The children then spent the rest of the morning: den building, making shelter, fire starting, making survival bracelets with paracord, learning basic first aid and how to use a compass. The Year 5 explorers are now fully ready to go out on an adventure and that is exactly where our English learning will take them.

On Friday,we played our first SEASAC home game since Covid-19 with our Football girls and boys competing against various international schools on the Tanglin playing field. Good luck to all our Tanglin Lions teams who will be competing over the weekend.

Thank you to all our Infant parent volunteers who came in to help out with the children during their cooking and library sessions this week!

It’s always lovely to see cross school interactions! Our Year 2 children enjoyed reading time while getting to know their peers in Junior School through the Reading Buddies programme this week.
