Week in Photos

Term 3, Week 5

150 films from Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Philippines and China were screened at the Across Asia Film Festival (AAYFF) gala evening last week. The quality of the film entries was astounding, and our judges from Disney, Lucas Film and MediaCorp were full of praise for the high levels of technical and artistic expertise on display.

Year 2 visited the Senior Science labs for a session of Whizz Bang Science! The Awe and Wonder was palpable as the children observed whooshing rockets, created elephant toothpaste and even set their teachers’ hands on fire.

Continuing the STEM streak, various Senior students were celebrated at the weekly Tanglin Tingle this week due to their outstanding performances at the Monash Science Competition and the Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad Round 1 2023.

Year 2 children could barely keep their excitement in as they took part in the interactive storytelling performance by CentreStage.

There were lots of trips this week - from Year 7 in Desaru, Malaysia to Year 3 visiting the Rivers Wonder at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.

The Infant children were excited to greet and congratulate Natalie, our Infant PE STLA and National hockey player who returned from the Cambodia 2023 SEA Games with a bronze medal for her team's win in Singapore Hockey.

Year 10 Biology students sat for the UK Biology Challenge on Thursday.

It was wonderful to be back at the National Gallery, Singapore for our Interpretations event last weekend. The showcase of music, poetry and visual arts by our senior students was incredible and the event highlighted the importance that visual arts has on influencing our responses to our experiences; be it through sound, word or visual language. It also is a great showcase of cross curriculum initiatives and the importance of transdisipinary research in supporting learning. Well done to all staff and students involved.
