Week in Photos

Term 2, Week 2

This week, as part of our Arts Residency programme we enjoyed an array of workshops facilitated by Ella Emmanuele from Falmouth Art University, UK. It was pleasing to see the students stretched in their thinking and engaging in more abstract, experiential drawing. Students were invited to be ‘present’ in the moment and document sounds and feelings visually. Junior students were invited to respond to their movements in the space they occupied. They created large scale immersive pieces using a range of drawing tools.

Three teams of Sixth Form students made their first pitches at The Hive as part of the NXplorers programme for this year. The NXplorers is an innovative educational program developed by Shaping Learning for Shell. It introduces young minds to the complex and creative thinking skills for them to become positive agents of change.

The Senior School put up a fantastic performance of Chicago! We had four runs over four different sold out evenings and all shows received great reviews and compliments from the audience. Well done to everyone involved!

Performance 2

Well done to our Senior Students who were silver medallists at the COBIS x Debate Mate Competition, and semi-finalists in the International Debating Competition.

The merits of each event were debated with Mr Seal and Mr Sheppard in this week’s Tingle, which recognised the students' efforts debating tough topics against even tougher competition! Mr Seal was also pleased to hear that some of the Seniors are now coaching younger Tanglin students in the art of debating.
