On Tuesday, we spotted our Year 4 children around the school masquerading as intrepid explorers, bears, leopards, tigers and other wild animals. It was an action packed day to kick off their ‘Island Paradise’ topic for the term. See slideshow below for photos.
Also part of Year 4's Explorer Day, children were treated to a virtual tour of an actual ocean expedition ship, the JOIDES Resolution. They got to speak with the ship’s captain as well as two scientists who answered questions they had about the ocean core and the benefits of ocean exploration. Everyone had a fantastic day by learning something new.
Also on Tuesday, 17 bands from the Senior School recorded their pieces for Battle of the Bands. Everyone was blown away by the talent and quality of performances. With music genres ranging from 80s ballads to heavy metal, the judges will have a tough time deciding on winners!
Winners will be announced on 15 February - so stay tuned!
Tanglin celebrates the Lunar New Year this year by getting our children to dress up in red and gold. Catch a glimpse of our children in their lucky ensembles whilst watching the skilful performance by the lion dancers. Our resident mascot, Griff, decided to swing by to join in the fun too!
Thank you TTS Foundation for sponsoring the lion dance performance.
To all our families who celebrate Lunar or Chinese New Year, best wishes and Gong Xi Fa Cai!
